I have always been a person that people come to with their problems. A sounding board and confidant to many. I have always had an interest in how our mind works and why we do the things we do. I entered counselling through my own therapy. I needed someone to understand me and let me work out how I could break the cycle of my thoughts to bring around positive changes. Having had the benefit counselling and the change I experienced lead me to wanting to help others. Offering people an emphatic ear, a chance for them to be heard and understood.

Life brings challenges to us at different times in our lives. Navigating our way through them can be difficult. Having someone to confide in without judgemental views can be freeing. I offer a safe and confidential space of people to talk and explore their thoughts and feelings. By understanding the way, we think, feel and behave can bring around positive change.

I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor, NLP practitioner and a registered member of the BACP. I work in an integrative style. Working with integrative counselling means the therapy is tailored to the client’s needs. Some may find talking enough, others might need a more goals-oriented approach. A person’s reason for counselling differs and the counselling differs to each person.

I can be a confidential and safe space to talk. Together we can explore thoughts and feelings to help promote a positive change and a calming of the mind. Sometimes our thoughts and beliefs are not helpful to us. Recognising these and the reasons for them enables us to bring change into our lives. Our internal voice is not always helpful. Words can play an important part in our beliefs and how our mind works. Understanding them and the impact they have on subconscious mind can allow us to bring change. I can help bring this change by using NLP (neurolinguistic programming) on subconscious thoughts and beliefs. Working together towards finding useful coping strategies and/or setting goals within a safe space can promote a sense of achievement, self-confidence, self-esteem and a calmer mind.

I believe that we hold the answers within ourselves. Talking therapy can help you to discover the answers to the questions you maybe looking for.
