Lorraine has experience in counselling people from the ages of 5 to 85, male, female, individuals, couples and families.

One of the hardest things is making that first phone call, and Lorraine understands how difficult it is but once that call has been made it shows a sign that your inner strength is helping you through.
She cannot tell you what to do do or give you advice but she can certainly help you explore your own thoughts and feelings and develop skills that will help you now and in the future. She will help and support you in finding your own insights and ways of working through your difficulties.

Firstly an assessment appointment is made, either by email, text or telephone, which ever is more convenient for you.
At the assessment Lorraine will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and what expectations you have and what goals you wish to achieve.
Together you will also establish whether you feel comfortable working with each other, She will explain to you how she works and set the boundaries.
You and Lorraine will together find the root cause of your issues and concerns and confront them. Lorraine is careful to go at a pace that is right for you, setting you up with resources to help you to move forward into a new more satisfying lifestyle. Lorraine can offer you a safe environment for you to explore the issues that are affecting your life.
Lorraine works integratively. This means that she is able to use a wide range of counselling approaches, which will enable her to assess your needs and offer you a unique service utilizing all her skills and up to date training.
The therapies Lorraine uses are CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), TA (Transactional Analysis), SFBT (Solution Focussed Brief Therapy) Person Centred, Pyschodynamic and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and Mindfulness.

She works with couples who are experiencing relationship problems and individuals who come to see her with a number of different problems such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, low confidence, phobias, bereavement are to name just but a few.
Lorraine specialises in trauma.
In her private practice she works with EAP’s, schools both primary and secondary and also Banardos LINK where she counsels individuals and families where they have some connection with adoption.
She has had experience in working a charity based in Thurrock where she counselled children from the ages of 5 to adolescents to young adults.
She has worked in both primary and secondary schools helping children with lots of different issues, such as parents break-up, bullying, bereavement, low self-esteem, low self confidence and anger management.
She has counselled adults suffering with drug and alcohol addictions.
In addition to this she also counsels residents, staff and relatives of residents who are suffering with dementia at a Dementia Care home based in Leigh on sea Essex.
